Staying Healthy On A Budget – It Starts With Coffee

There are a lot of things in life that I put value into and my health and wellness is a big one. After all, if I’m not healthy I can’t be the kind of mom and wife I want to be. But it’s also important to keep our finances in check, and that’s why there are so many great things you can still do while staying healthy on a budget.

Staying Healthy On A Budget

Plan your meals/shop for deals: One of the biggest ways to stay healthy on a budget is to both meal plan and shop deals. If you want to shop at Whole Foods by all mean do that, but still shop for deals. Every store has coupons, sales, etc. By meal planning, you can find deals and also ensure you are eating healthy.

Eat whole foods: No I do not mean the store, haha but I do mean eating fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, etc. Whole good foods. Don’t fill your body with processed things even though it can be tempting. Cheap does not = healthy always. Plus farmer’s markets are a great place to find amazing healthy foods for a fraction of the cost.

Use free health apps: I love using health apps and most of them are free. Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, iTrackBites, etc. These are great ways to track fitness without spending money!

Reuse water bottles: I have a Stanley which was a bigger investment water bottle, but I take it everywhere and never buy water. Buying water out can get very expensive and bottled water is also not super great for the environment. Plus the Stanley holds 40oz and I always find myself drinking more water from it.

Check out free exercise classes, trials: Most things like Obe Fitness, Peloton, Barre studios, etc have free trials and they are an awesome way to workout and try workouts that may be different from what you normally do.

Take advantage of your surroundings: Trails, lakes, your own neighborhood, a free apartment gym, all things you can use to get exercise and stay healthy without spending much money! If you live in an apartment or condo with a gym you are already paying for the amenities so you may as well use them!

How are you staying healthy on a budget?
