Classy & Classic Summer Wedding at Middleton Lodge

Frances and Ben’s August wedding took place at English country house wedding venue, Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire.

The couple, who adore classic English country style, wanted to fill their venue with beautiful seasonal flowers and chose to keep their colour schemes as muted and timeless as possible – this included Frances’s bridesmaids wearing white.

These charming images were captured by Dominique Bader Photography, more form whom you can enjoy here on Love My Dress.

A Caroline Castigliano Gown

My dress was by Caroline Castigliano, from the Harrogate Wedding Lounge.

I was very inspired by Kate and Pippa Middleton’s wedding dresses, so I had the lace jacket designed to go on top of my ‘Mariah by Caroline Castigliano’ dress.

I also wore a sheer long veil by Chloe, shoes from Hobbs and English Pear & Freesia by Jo Malone. This was the scent of my first gift from Ben for my birthday: an English Pear & Freesia Jo Malone candle.

Seasonal Wedding Flowers

Our florist was Ruffled Flowers. We went with an English country garden theme, using flowers that were in season.

The flowers were white with hints of pastel pink. Our first home together had anemone’s outside the front of our cottage, so our florist was able to add some of these into our bouquets as a special feature! This was such a special touch.

Photography by Dominique Bader

Dominique Bader is simply outstanding. She is incredibly talented, her photos honestly so beautiful and so artistic, yet so natural and classic in their editing style.

Dominique is so warm and friendly, and she went the extra mile with everything for us. She was the BEST decision we made for our wedding day.

How They Met

We met on our University course studying marketing. We became close friends in our first year, and then over the summer we realised we wanted to become more than ‘just friends’.

On Wednesday 7th August 2019, at 14:52 , Ben got down on one knee and proposed in the most beautiful spot on our countryside walk. Two years later, we tied the knot!

Words of Wedded Wisdom

Make sure you enjoy every moment of your day, and choose a trusted photographer and videographer to cover your day.

We knew that we could relax and enjoy our day knowing that our photography and videography team were making our lifelong memories that we would share with generations to come.

I also would say get into your dress early so you can have some ‘getting ready’ photos with your bridesmaids and family, and also some time to relax and enjoy the moment, without feeling like you are in a rush to get to the ceremony on time!

Never make a rushed decision when choosing your wedding dress. Make sure you visit multiple bridal shops for wedding dresses, or if you have found a nice shop, always go home and sleep on your decision before committing to your once in a lifetime wedding dress!
