Jackson is a male Greek Hound Cross in the Nicosia Sanctuary looking for his forever home. He’s around 3 years old.
Jackson is a sweet-natured, handsome hound. He’s still recovering from the hell that he went through at the village pound and probably before that, but we’re seeing a daily change in this beautiful boy.
When we rescued the dogs from the village pound in mid-February, Jackson was probably in the worst condition. He had a wound on his nose, small wounds all over his poor body and he was really skeletal. He was tired and sad.
After 5 weeks at the sanctuary he still needs to put some weight on his bones, but he’s settling in really well and is always happy to see us. He wags his tail happily, loves to explore the yard and always comes for cuddles.
As is common with former hunting dogs, he’s a little bit more wary of men, but once he’s sure that they are friendly he’s happy to make friends.
From what we’ve seen, Jackson doesn’t seem to have an issue with other dogs. He likes to go and say hello to other dogs in their kennels and is polite and friendly when he approaches them.
We will continue to test him, but we do think that he could join a home with another resident dog. He would be suitable for a home without cats.
Jackson is still a young dog and he deserves to live a happy life, loved by his humans with a comfortable soft bed to sleep on.
