While most of my days require a larger handbag for all the additional kid items I need to carry around, the days that I get to pare down my bag feel quite liberating, and I have found myself wanting more of those days. Fewer items carried, less of a hassle, and a really lovely little bag is a great setup. While I am supposed to be shopping for everyone except for myself, I found a bag I currently want: this Gucci Small Ophidia Handbag with a sweet little strawberry charm.
I know it sounds like it could be a bit childish, but it isn’t. And while some are over the logo bags, I find the classic Gucci GG Supreme canvas to offer the perfect amount of retro and modern touches. This bag is part of the ever-expanding Gucci Ophidia line, of which I am already a huge fan.
The Details
So what makes this bag stand out to me? There’s that 90s compact size that really speaks to me, and the shape of this bag is simple enough but offers a bit of an interesting take. It’s that East/West size that allows it to look nice snuggly under your arm, and the GG logo is placed in the center in a small but recognizable manner.
I really love the leather trim (there is a classic brown or blue colorway) as well as the chain handle and optional Web shoulder strap. This makes this bag quite versatile, and you can even remove all the straps and carry it alone as a clutch, but I rarely find a need for that.
The sweet addition is the strawberry charm that hangs from the bag, and this fruit is shown in countless other items, from clothing to shoes. I love something unexpected, and this little addition is just that! Overall dimensions are 9.8″W x 6.1″H x 2.4″ D, and now I am adding this bag to my wishlist, but also to my gift list this holiday season.
