Earlier this year, Chanel presented its Fall 2023 collection, and almost instantly, it was clear the collection was an ode to Chanel’s French roots. A palette of black and white with pops of pretty pinks and a bit of red, the collection explores Chanel’s eternal House codes, the ones that are most integral to its DNA. The bags are a testament to that, exploring the camellia flower in many forms.
“The camellia is more than a theme, it’s an eternal code of the House” – Virginie Viard
One of the House’s most feminine codes, the camellia flower, dates back to Coco Chanel herself. This season, it appears printed on bags like the new Chanel 22, fashioned from sequins onto Classic Flaps and adorned onto the closures of bags. Of course, the new Kelly is here as well, which Chanel is calling a Mini Shopper.
