A Romantic Elopement in Rome, with a Laure de Sagazan Dress

Lian and Jared’s beautifully intimate and romantic Italian elopement took place in Rome on 5th May this year. The couple chose this beautiful city for all its eternal beauty. They also happened to meet in Rome, purely by chance, several years prior.

Lian wore the most effortlessly elegant gown by Parisian designer, Laure de Sagazan, which she discovered at an atelier in Rome. Brides, if you love the same kind of bridal style, I recommend you book a visit at The Mews bridal boutique in London, as they are exclusive British stockists of this French bridal fashion brand.

A Chance Meeting in Rome

We met during a vacation in Rome a few years ago and have been together ever since. Back in London, we continued dating for three years and when we decided to get married, we couldn’t think of anywhere else more beautiful, to celebrate our special day.

Seasonal Spring Wedding Bouquet

My flowers were by Deborah Ferri.  I loved my delicate and elegant bouquet.

Our stationery was created by Coucou, who are Italian designers. She did a great job with the soft colours of pink and yellow which perfectly matched to the tones of the old town.

A Laure de Sagazan Dress

I wore a Laure de Sagazan bridal gown. The atelier where I bought the dress is Merry Me in Rome – a cozy and elegant space in the hippiest Roman neighbourhood, Rione Monti, the owner, was so kind.

I fell in love with my dress as soon as I put it on. My minimal, elegant, comfortable wedding dress, was, in one word, timeless. It was exactly what I wanted.

A Sweet & Intimate Elopementn Ceremony

Thanks to the planner Sara Tusset, on a May afternoon – with a typically London atmosphere – we swore our eternal love for one another, in front of the Gianicolo fountain, and let our hearts speak, guided by the emotions of the moment.

We bought my rings from Orfevre Jewelry. They are goldsmiths who create bespoke jewels in gold and precious stones. I love them.

Photography

Sara Tusset, our wedding planner, recommended our wedding photographer, Elisa Rinaldi. She is a storyteller and destination wedding photographer in love with intimate ceremony like ours.

Elisa was easygoing, gently guided us in posing and managed to make us feel comfortable in front of the camera. She is a great professional with a unique style. We can not recommend her enough.

Our videographer was Marco de Nigris.

A Fiat 500 Wedding Car

Following a ceremony, we travelled via a Fiat 500, to the Trastevere, the heart of popular Rome, where we strolled through its characteristic alleys, eating ice cream, and finally dining in one of its typical restaurants, where, just a few years prior, we met and fell in love.

Favourite Moments

We really enjoyed every part of our day. Eloping in Rome, where we met, was the best decision we could ever have make. Eating ice cream without dirtying my dress was certainly the funnest part.

Words of Wedded Wisdom

It takes months and months to organise and then the day itself goes by so quickly. The only thing you can do is ensure to have some epic photos so that you can relive that moment over and over again.

The advice I can give to future brides is to choose your suppliers suppliers, because they are the ones who will be able to capture the emotions of that moment.

Our wedding was originally due to take place in May 2021 in London but when the covid upset all our plans, we decided to elope in Rome. My advice because of this to all couples, is to follow your instincts and your heart. Wherever it wants to take you.
